Enzymes catalyze biological processes and create products
in our bodies, which we need to survive. Enzymes can not perform
this work if coenzymes are not present. A deficiency in coenzymes
slows down the entire enzymatic process. NADH is one such co-enzyme
that is found in all living cells and plays a central role in the
body's energy producing capacity. The more NADH a cell has available,
the more energy it can produce. NADH energizes body and brain activity,
improves alertness, concentration, emotions, drive and overall mood.
A growing body of research suggests that NADH stimulates
the brain cells production of the neurotransmitter dopamine, noradrenaline
and serotonin.
- Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers of
our brain and nerves.
- Dopamine is essential for short-term memory, involuntary
movements, muscle tone, emotional driver and spontaneous reactions.
- Noradrenaline is responsible for alertness, concentration
and mental activity.
- Serotonin is important for sleep and emotional
balance.
The amount of NADH a cell requires depends on the
amount of energy it is using throughout the day. When cell energy
declines below a certain threshold, cell death and tissue degeneration
occurs. Energy loss often plays a substantial role in degenerative
diseases.
NADH has been used in the following disorders:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Hypertension
- Alzheimer's Disease
- Parkinson's Disease
Dosages and response time may vary from individual
to individual. Healthy people who are seeking nutritional energy
enhancement obtain results with 2.5 mg to 5 mg daily on an empty
stomach. However, as with all supplements and medications, dosage
is directly related to one's biochemical individuality. Dosages
for therapeutic use varies considerably and it is best to consult
with a knowledgeable physician.
Dr. Greenblatt has used NADH effectively with many
children over the age of 12. However, children under this age have
a tendencies to exhibit increased agitation. Consult with your physician
before administrating.
